  1. A certain zinc-blende lattice comprises chemicals A and B, which have form factors fa and fb, respectively. Calculate the complete structure factor SK for from this lattice.
    (a) Discuss the how SK depends on odd or even values for h, k, l.
    Also discuss the result for
    (b) h + k + l = 4n + 0;
    (c-e) h + k + l = 4n + 1; etc.
    (f) Discuss how these results ``morph" to the results of a monatomic diamond lattice.

  2. In the Brillioun zone of an FCC lattice, what is the largest propagation vector that is (a) parallel to the cube edge; (b) the body diagonal of the cube; (c) parallel to the diagonal of the cube face.
