Campaign 8 in normal ops will use the following standards. This plan is based on a campaign with a length of 4 to 6 days. target letter sp. declination HR 5467 A, X A1 +54 HD 173511 B, Y K4 +61 alp Lyr C (primary) A1' +38 del Scl D A1 -28 HD 166780 E, Z K4 +57 HD 15508 F K0 -68 For a campaign lasting 6 days (plus any fraction), sources should be observed in the following order: 6-day campaign day sequence 1 A B C 2 D F Z 3 X B C 4 D F E 5 A Y C 6 D F E (7) A B For campaigns of 4 or 5 days, the following sequences apply: 3.8-day campaign 4-day campaign 5-day campaign day sequence day sequence day sequence 1 A B Z 1 A B C 1 A B C 2 X F E 2 X F Z 2 D F Z 3 B F E 3 B F E 3 X B E 4 A Y 4 A Y E 4 D F E (5) A B 5 A F Y (6) A B Note 1: In the above schedules, one observation of targets A, B, and E has been replaced with one observation of targets X, Y, and Z, respectively. These AORs are identical to their replacement except that they utilize different ramp times. target letters SL LL SH LH HR 5467 A, X 6-14 s 30-120 s 30-120 s HD 173511 B, Y 14-30 s 6-30 s 60-240 s HD 166780 E, Z 14-60 s Note 2: The above schedules are tailored specifically to Campaign 8 (to end each day in the north). Note 3: In the event that 18 observing slots are unavailable in this 6-day campaign, one observation of the primary (Star C, alp Lyr) could be eliminated. The shorter campaigns have already eliminated most observations of Star C. Note 4: Observations of Star C will need to be followed immediately by a short anneal sequence due to its brightness. In the observing table above, an anneal sequence should naturally follow, as Star C is observed at the end of Days 1, 3, and 5. Note 5: In order to improve observatory efficiency, the scheduler should feel free to re-arrange the observing schedules above, as long as sources do not move by more than roughly +/- 12 hours, and as long as the spacing between successive observations of the same source remains roughly the same. Observations have been designed so that successive observations of the same source are spaced by roughly 24 hours or more.
