S/N calculator (Excel spreadsheet)
This spreadsheet will give the S/N for a single ramp as a function of wavelength and integration time for each module. The user needs to input the flux of the source (in mJy). The blue template extrapolates all fluxes from 12 um using a Rayleigh-Jeans tail. Enter the IRAS 12 um flux (as given in the PSC, i.e. not color-corrected); the fluxes at 25, 60, and 100 um are not used. The red template makes linear interpolations using the entries for 12, 25, and 60 um. The value in cell E9 is the linearly extrapolated flux at 5 um. If it's positive, enter this value in cell E5; otherwise, enter a better estimate in cell E5.
