Analysis of startup, shutdown and middle sequences, Campaign 30 Abstract: The read-noise properties of the arrays in Campaign 30 are much as before, except that SL and LL continue to show slight but steady deterioration compared to previous campaigns, both exceeding the noise limit in the SUR tests 7 times out of 10. LH exceeded its new limit 4 of 10 times, and SH passed all tests. Other tests show no significant variations over past campaigns. For SUR data, the quoted values are the standard deviation of the read noise map. For SRS data, these are the median of the standard deviation map. Comments: The SRS results are as before and are all within the limits. The stability is also good throughout the campaign (see IRS_001/rn.ps, second page). The SUR results are similar to previous campaigns, but both SL and LL have more cases over the limit. SH is again within the limits in all tests. LH has 4 out of 10 cases over the limit, with a maximum read noise of 13.0 DN. SL has 7 out of 10 cases over the limit, including all post-anneal sequences as in the previous campaign. LL has only two cases that are below its limit, indicating further deterioration of the array. The best LL test is well below the SURN limit: 12.3 DN; the worst case is 16.7 DN. Variations in SURN throughout the campaign is large. The variation of SH and LH SUR results are also good. Even though the LH 003/002 comparison has reached variations of 15%, that is mainly caused by the slightly larger value in the 003-pre- anneal value. The overall variations throughout the campaign are actually better in LH than in SH (see IRS_001/rn.ps). The stability of SL and LL SUR are not very good; however, they are all within the yellow limit. LH is also good, except the usual bad pixels. In the LH 002b/001 comparison, the orders are clearly visible, even though this problem has not pushed many pixels over the yellow limit. The SL results are good, except in the 002b/001 comparison, where latent PAH emission and individual objects are visible in SL1. LL continues to be bad, especially in the 002b/001 comparison, with orders clearly visible. There are latent sources in LL1, and they are actually dimmer than the background.
