Analysis of startup, shutdown and middle sequences, Campaign 28 Abstract: This campaign is the longest IRS campaign to date, with seven anneal sequences. All tests look normal. All SRS results are all within the limits. The SH and LH SURN results are also well within the limits. The SL SURN test failed in nearly all of the post-anneal measurements, as seen before. LL also failed more than is usual (8 of 14 tests), more often before the anneal sequence than after. For such a long campaign, the noise stability is good. SL had the largest the variation (11-18%). The photoresponse test has slightly better results as previous campaigns. LL orders are still seen in comparison images. It is still those bad pixels in LL and LH causing red limit as in previous campaigns. For SUR data, the quoted values are the standard deviation of the read noise map. For SRS data, these are the median of the standard deviation map. Comments: The SRS results are all within the limit, as usual. The SH and LH SURN results are also all within their limits. SH remains at around 7.1 DN, without much variation. The median for LH is 12.2 DN, but it reaches to 14.3DN in the post anneal test for IRS_002c. SL has 6 out of 14 SURN measurements over the limit. As in recent campaigns, the higher results generally follow the anneal sequence. In fact, only one of the seven post-anneal SL SURN results is under the 8.8 DN limit. LL exceeds the 14.6 SURN limit in eight of 14 tests, with another measurement just at the limit. Unlike SL, the higher results are more likely to happen before the anneal sequence (6 out of 7 times) then before it (2 out of 7). The SRS results are within 1%, with one exception at 2%. The SURN results are also generally good. SH remains within 5%, and LL has a maximum variation of only 6%. LH stays within 5%, with the exception of the 003/002c comparison, which shows a 14% variation. SL is less stable, with variations between 11% and 18% Photoresponse stability (using the third middle IRS_002c): Module 002c-pre to 001-post 003-pre to 002c-post 003-pre to 001-post yellow red yellow red yellow red SL 9 0 0 0 1 0 SH 0 0 0 0 0 0 LL 2002 4 88 2 673 3 LH 5 2 1 1 3 2 Comments: SH remains well behaved. The LL orders are visible, though not as severely as in previous campaigns. SL behaves well, but in the 002c/001 comparison, the peak-up arrays are visible, and in the 003/001 comparison, not only are the PU arrays visible, but a latent image is in the center of the blue PU field. The behavior of LH is similar to previous campaigns, with only a few bad pixels. Pixels exceeding the red limit are (positions in parenthesis, number of failures in brackets): LL: ( 52, 4) [3], (76, 64) [2], (46, 99) [2], (76, 13) [1], (118, 73) [1] LH: ( 8, 84) [3], (84, 114) [2]
