FedEx Moon Office

Examples of "bad" physics - events that could not possibly occur:
- Shooting star seen behind moon station should not appear since
there is no atmosphere on moon.
- People and objects should not float inside the moon station where
there is gravity (just 1/6 that on Earth).
- If people are "weightless," then they should not bob up and down
without touching anything.
- Not all objects appear to be weightless: people walking, guy sitting down,
copy machine, water cooler, ties hang down
- Gravity apparently turned on when the employees stepped out of
the station onto the moon's surface.
- Bill gets slapped on back and flies away (Bill apparently has the mass of about a
football!).
- There is no noticeable effect from the
reaction force to Mr. Stevens when he slaps Bill on the back.
- Bill starts moving slowly and accelerates in the direction of his
motion after being slapped.
- Bill flies off in straight line instead of parabolic path
(gravity must have turned off again!).
- Sound heard from FedEx transport ship despite lack of atmosphere.
- Light beams are visible from FedEx ship despite lack of
atmosphere or dust particles.
- Thrusters from FedEx ship do not affect people on moon's surface
despite their close proximity.
- Earth appears much bigger and closer than it should.
- The Earth is nearly fully illuminated, indicating that the sun
must be behind the moon, yet the shadows on the moon suggest that the
sun is to the right.
- A meteor would not glow and have a tail since there is no
atmosphere on the moon.
- A meteor that close to the moon would hit the surface rather than
just pass by.
Examples of good physics:
- Coffee coming out of cup acts like it would in zero gravity.
- FedEx spaceship has thrusters that rotate to appropriate angle
for slowing down and landing.
- FedEx ship lands as if there is gravity on the moon.
- Dust gets kicked up by ship's thrusters.
- Employees in space suits on moon's surface appear to be in
reduced but not zero gravity.
- Meteor does not make any sound.
