I am graduate student in the department of Physics and Astronomy at UNC Chapel Hill working under the direction of Dr. Fabian Heitsch. For my research, I use the Athena Hydrodynamics Code to perform grid-based fluid simulations that explore gas dynamics in the presence of supermassive black holes. I also use an in-house radiative transfer routine to explore the effect of external radiation on star formation in such environments. I have successfully defended my dissertation and will graduate with a PhD in Physics in May 2018!
